There are no “mistakes” in life, only lessons.
So just like in jazz, when you are improvising (metaphor for living your life), occasionally you play a note that was not intended.
Now, you can get hooked on the fact it sounds a bit “off” and let it throw you, or you can allow yourself to freely explore the path that note can lead you down.
When you choose to explore, you open up a whole new world of possibilities that wouldn’t have ever gotten discovered had you not played that particular note in the first place.
What a wonderful, freeing perspective!
Just by being willing to use the “mistake” as a springboard for forward motion, this creative energy can be applied to all areas of your life.
Any time you play a “wrong” note in your life, you can allow yourself to explore the new path being laid out in front of you, that you are creating on a whim.
Keeping in mind, had you not played that note, you’d never have the opportunity to see things in a different way.
This is an exercise in trust.
Trusting that not everything runs according to your plan, and that new perspectives are being offered to you so that you have the opportunity to grow.
Trust that there is a message for you in this new, unknown place you find yourself in.
And just enjoy it.
There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to play at the game of life.
Choose to confidently walk your walk, playing whatever damn notes you want. YOU get to write the score your life dances to.
