When you think about becoming the version of yourself that right now you only dream of, how does that make you feel?

Do you feel like it’s a million miles away or do you feel like it’s closer than you may realize?

Here’s the deal: That version of you ALREADY EXISTS. All you have to do is align with it.

WTF, Katie. Really?! How the hell do I do that?! It’s SOOOOOO HARD to change! I’ve tried before but I find myself right back where I started.

That’s what I used to say to myself all the time when I was pulling myself out of depression. Anyone else ever felt this way? 🙋🏽‍♀️

Do you want to know WHY it’s so hard to change?

The short story is this (paraphrased from Dr Joe Dispenza) : When we experience something in the external environment, we have a response to it called an emotion. When we have these emotions, they create certain chemical reactions and neurological wiring in our brain and body.

Each and every time we remember an event, we are quite literally reliving that event and hardwiring even further that emotional response until it becomes MEMORIZED by the body.

Keep thinking thoughts of guilt or anger (or ANY emotion really) and eventually your body will take over and just act on autopilot. Then this emotion BECOMES part of your personality (I’m an anxious person, It’s always my fault, etc…)

Your body at this point has taken over your mind and just responds for you. When you attempt to change your thoughts, the body gets “confused” and tries its damnedest to keep you in the state of being that releases these chemicals you now have become “addicted to”.

And now you have a war-zone inside your head. You WANT to change, but you find yourself talking yourself out of it and staying in your comfort zone.

So what do you do?

You have to make a DIFFERENT choice. You have to CHOOSE thoughts that are beyond what you currently are thinking.

One way to do this is to simply choose to do something today that the new version of you would do, then go do it. It can be an action, a new thought, even noticing your reaction to a trigger counts.

Choose to be better than you were yesterday.

We have control over how we show up in the world. And we are always just ONE DECISION AWAY from a completely different life.

One of the greatest gifts of this life is having the ability to reinvent ourselves at any given moment. Y’all, WE ARE MEANT TO CHANGE.

If I am the same person at 10pm that I was at 5:30am, then I did not fulfill my purpose in the world for that day.

However, if I did ONE TINY THING out of my comfort zone, then I have succeeded in my growth and learning, and also have left a powerful imprint on the field.

And by doing this, I have also shown the Universe that I am willing to do my part, and that energy will be reciprocated.

You actions never have to be massive 24/7. One choice to become a bit better than yesterday is all you need.

Remember, you CAN become who you’ve always wanted to be, and you are loved and supported on your journey to get there. I love y’all.
