I used to feel like I was constantly running around in circles. I couldn’t ever figure out what to do first because there were so many things to do, and the overwhelm would cause me to just turn away in tears. I wasn’t able to function and feel normal because I was constantly worrying about all sorts of situations that were out of control. I would toss and turn all night because my anxiety would keep me awake. I would wake up feeling like a zombie and spend my days just going through mundane motions.
To say I was a hot mess is an understatement.
One day I decided that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. Something needed to change. I’d been in therapy for years, and it was great, I was feeling ok but I wasn’t feeling like I was having tangible results in my ability to move forward. In fact, I wasn’t even sure what I was even moving towards.
Then out of the blue a program landed in my lap (you see, when you align with your higher self you get handed ‘love notes’ that seem to be just the right thing at just the right time, and my decision for change put that energy into motion, but that’s a story for another day). It seemed like a stretch to learn how to be a coach, but something about it felt right, and it was a price I could afford, I was intrigued, and decided to go for it. After all, what did I have to lose? I figured it would be a last ditch effort to help myself out of depression before I’d be on the route to pharmaceuticals.
As I started to learn about being a coach, I was also being coached in the process. I discovered all sorts of things about myself that I had kept hidden for a long time. I learned that it’s ok to be me, that because of who I am I can make a massive difference in the world, and that I’m not the only one with intuitive energetic gifts that can guide others to healing.
Wait, what?
There are people out there, using energy healing but they’re coaches?
Well, that set my world on fire. Everything I thought I knew about myself and my life was set ablaze and I never looked back. Because of what I received in that program changed me forever. I started my own coaching business, got two clients right off the bat, fell in love with the work more and more every day, realized I could absolutely live a life that brings me joy instead of pain, and forged ahead on a new path.
A few months later I hired a business coach for myself and watched my life expand in ways I never thought possible. Doors were opening left and right. New people started showing up in my life that would prove to be some of the most inspiring relationships I’ve had to date. The experience, knowledge, networking, and support I’ve received has been priceless.
Shortly after that I invested in another coaching program for a year, at a price that motivated me to move my ass to get things done, and have come to see that this was the BEST thing I have ever done for myself in my whole life. I feel unstoppable. My coaches have pushed me to become the best version of me every single day. To become the biggest, baddest, boldest version of me that has ever existed. And these are only some of the benefits I have experienced.
Yes, I am a coach, and no I will not sell you my services.
But I would like to share with you the top five reasons having a coach will make your life better in record time because I know how painful it is to feel stuck in your life.
What worked for me may not work for you, but if you’re thinking about making a change for yourself and don’t know how or where to start, working with a coach for as little as 3-6 months can have a massive impact on your life. Here’s why:
#1. You Get Clarity.
Don’t know what you want in life? Can’t decide which road to take? Filled with ‘what ifs’?
A coach can help you get very clear on what you want in your life. They can help you prioritize your goals, figure out exactly how you want things to look, and fill in the empty pockets of your dreams. They will help you look at all the areas where you desire change and help devise what those changes look like.
They will get you set up with a clear vision so that you can make your way from point A to point B and actually live the life you’ve only been dreaming of.
They will guide you to fully embrace this vision and make it a part of your everyday life so that each action you take will get you closer to having your dreams come true.
#2. They Support You.
One of the main benefits I’ve noticed is the amount of support I receive from my coaches. No matter where I’m at, I have someone cheering for me, holding space, encouraging me, and motivating me. It feels so incredibly amazing to know someone else believes in me and my dreams. They are there for me, reaffirming that what I want matters and I am worthy of going after the big things in life.
It’s easy to get down on yourself and talk yourself out of doing the thing that lights you up. We get scared of what others will think, of stepping into the unknown, of maybe being ‘too big for our britches’. We keep ourselves small and avoid taking the massive action to get what we want as a way not to upset others. Ever notice the reaction you get when you talk about your ‘big crazy dreams’?
A coach will be there for you, keeping you feeling that burning desire so you feel safe taking those scary steps. They will energetically hold your hand as you step into your fears and transform into who you want to be. They will support your dreams and encourage you to take the steps to make it happen.
#3. They Offer a New Perspective.
Having someone who is not directly involved in your everyday world offers a great amount of perspective when dealing with your challenges.
They can often see things from a broader perspective that you may not be able to see because you are wrapped up in the situation. We only see through our own lens of perception and they can help us take off the blinders.
By being able to see things from a different angle we have the opportunity to try another approach, see where we might need to direct more attention, how we can tweak what we’re doing to obtain better results, and other ways we could find answers.
Often times a coach can help point out solutions hiding in plain sight or lead us to several ways to solve a problem just from brainstorming and offering their perspective.
#4. Healing.
Not all coaches are healers, but if you can find one then boy are you in luck!
Having someone who can facilitate healing has been the number one catalyst to my growth.
My fears and the lies I’ve told myself have held me back for such a long time. I never knew how to get past them until I found my coach(es) that are also healers. The techniques they use have eliminated a good portion of the fears that have stood in my way for so long and have helped me address what’s still lurking under the surface.
Having the love and healing energy surround me in my sessions bring me such a sense of wholeness that I can’t even describe. Usually I am the one giving the healings, so to have the roles reversed is a welcomed treat. If you’ve never had energy healing I highly recommend it as it will free you of what is holding you down. When you release that dense energy, you can then fill in with light and higher vibrations to rewrite your stories for success.
#5. Accountability
Weekly, bi weekly, or monthly check-ins keep you on track with your goals. A coach will help you stay focused on what you have to do by working with you to create an action plan for rapid results.
They will help you devise and prioritize the action steps you can take to crush your goals. They will celebrate your wins with you and help re-evaluate the misses. They can help point out the lessons from what worked and what didn’t as you figure out what steps to take next.
Having someone on the sidelines to guide you along the way is such a valuable tool. I have benefited greatly from creating a strategic plan to reach my goals in record time.
When you take the step and invest in yourself, you commit to becoming the person you have so longed to be. When you have help getting there you tend to go further than you ever imagined and often faster too. Coaching keeps you on track to dream big and then achieve those dreams, even if you never thought it possible. Having the support of someone who believes in you (in a different way than your family or friends) is equivalent to a super power that shoots you into the biggest and best version of the you that you can be.
Now, if that’s not a reason to hire some help then I don’t know what is.
